Pete Bowman serves as Oyster’s Managing Director of Strategic Planning and Execution Services. Pete works with major platform providers, retail/bank/insurance broker dealers and RIAs on strategic initiatives; strategic planning; clearing decisions; platform and service provider changes, and other new business opportunities.

Pete has extensive executive and management experience working with service providers and brokerage firms on strategic initiatives. strategic planning, clearing platform changes, and other new business opportunities (e.g., succession planning and Firm matching services).  Pete is a skilled negotiator and has led platform operations efforts on various broker-dealers, banks and independent firm mergers including, at the time, the industry’s largest retail firm conversion (Prudential Securities into First Union Securities).

Career Highlights

During his career with Wheat, First Securities Pete worked in all facets of Brokerage Operations and took on various supervisory and management positions. Ultimately, he was appointed Director of Operations of First Clearing, the clearing arm and subsidiary of Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Advisors). As the Senior Manager in the Operations Division of a national firm, he was responsible for the creation and development of an automated platform utilizing current technologies to take operations into the next generation. Pete expanded his career by joining the Correspondent Clearing Services division of Wachovia Securities as a Segment Director, where he oversaw top tier client relationship management and assumed numerous roles in Product Development and Sales.
